I love sequins... but not on everything. I would never consider myself a glitter girl, but classy, vintage sequins here and there is always nice when paired with a neutral or vintage ensemble. (esp. with sweater textures and solids) Designers are leaning towards more shimmer, metallics, lurex and shine for little recessionistas. I did some research and plastic and metallic disks are fairly cheap to create and give you a lot of bang for the buck. Derek Lam is one of my favs doing this... he is not designing with the typical black garb or bland palette that have been reminiscent of past recessions...
Glitz it up ladies (not Mariah Style.. think more Blake Lively) and be prepared for A LOT of it this Spring. Yipee!
