Philly.

We had a blast... I am officially obsessed with this city.

If you find a penny, and pick it up today.... it can't hurt... everyone is feeling the economic downturn and have loved ones or co- workers that are effected. I read this yesterday and thought it was so appropriate to be reminded of:

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Matthew 6:25- 27

So save your pennies, but have no fear.

being in love is quite possibly the greatest gift this side of heaven.

not too sure about this wholistic stuff?

pic from here

I met a woman named Eileen last night on a plane going to a "Serenity Retreat" in AZ.

Eileen was very intrigued as to why I was ripping things out of a magazines and for what reason?

I told her I use them for inspiration.

Eileen said I should make a "Vision Board" to achieve my dreams and be able the "visualize" my goals.

I currently pin up pretty pics in my craft room... but I think I might now take her advice and "Pin up my Dreams...."

ho ho ho.

These pics are getting me into the sprirt of Christmas... {I must hold off for a month, though. i must. i must.} We are selling TONS of holiday samples at work and my brain is spinning and wanting to get it all. The cute shop up top makes me uber excited to go Christmas shopping for everyone I love!

forts.

From Simple Lovely.

My brother, Garrett or GG, and I used to build forts pretty regularly. We even had a permanent closet my mother gave us that become our "club house." Somehow this closet failed to receive air conditioning, much less circulation, so it was short lived. Nonetheless, I can't wait to build forts with my kids and make them pretty schnazy like this sweet little pretty's above! Check out her decorations inside... I love it.

no words.

i will learn to respect the authority placed in front of me.

i will trust that God has a plan in this decision.

i still stand stongly by my candidate of choice.

i will pray for future and present peace daily.

Now, here's a thought... if we are now going to spread the weath around, i think i might leave work and call it a day! heck, why work now?

Lauren told me to check out Daniel 4:17. i trust.

next on the to do list.

i have a true obession with marshmellows... and my latest addiction, along with Ry's, is marshmellow "goo." {on everything.} These little sensations will be my nest project.
Homemade Marshmellows:
Ingredients:
3 packages unflavored gelatin
1 cup ice cold water, divided
12 ounces granulated sugar, approximately 1 1/2 cups
1 cup light corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
Nonstick spray

Directions
Place the gelatin into the bowl of a stand mixer along with 1/2 cup of the water. Have the whisk attachment standing by.
In a small saucepan combine the remaining 1/2 cup water, granulated sugar, corn syrup and salt. Place over medium high heat, cover and allow to cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Uncover, clip a candy thermometer onto the side of the pan and continue to cook until the mixture reaches 240 degrees F, approximately 7 to 8 minutes. Once the mixture reaches this temperature, immediately remove from the heat.
Turn the mixer on low speed and, while running, slowly pour the sugar syrup down the side of the bowl into the gelatin mixture. Once you have added all of the syrup, increase the speed to high. Continue to whip until the mixture becomes very thick and is lukewarm, approximately 12 to 15 minutes. Add the vanilla during the last minute of whipping. While the mixture is whipping prepare the pans as follows.
{Enjoy!}

halloween 2008.

In honor and spirit of the elections, we decided to go as the all American couple for Halloween this year... Nastia Luikin, Olympic gold medalist & Neil Armstrong, first on the moon. This is why I love my husband... because he puts up with my cheesy shenanigans. Thanks Ry... I think you are a pretty hot astronaut.

lost art.

found here.
There is something very primitive about a typewriter... I love the standard font and slight variations in its uniformity. I could thoroughly enjoy one of these one day! They are a lost art & remind me of romantic letters written between lovers overseas in WWII.
