Frazier 'Dump' Cookies

I am proud to say this is my own recipe! I didn't follow any rules, mixed, matched, added, and tasted till they were exactly what I wanted... and now we literally only have 4 left. whoops. They are now probably one of our favorite cookies...

Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups flour
1 cup regular oats
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 stick of butter, softened
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 egg
1/4 cup chopped pecans, toasted
2 cup milk chocolate chips
1 1/2 cup Heath toffee bits
1/4 cup milk
Preheat oven to 350°.
Combine first 10 ingredients (through egg), in an electric mixer. Beat at medium speed until well blended. Stir in pecans, milk chocolate chips, and toffee bits. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper or sprayed with non stick. Bake at 350° for 12 minutes or until edges of cookies are lightly browned. Cool on pans 2 minutes. Remove cookies from pans; cool on wire racks.
These are crunchy cookies, {the way I like em} just be forewarned. :)
These will no doubt be a staple in the cookie jar at the Fraziers for many years. Enjoy!

combos.

Love the different tactile combinations of the paper used on these collages...

finally...

Ahhh, yes please. A mug made to sit on your lap without spilling while you are perhaps... on the couch snuggled up with a book and too lazy to reach to the coffee table.

don't keep calm...

Now this is what I'm talking about... lets be honest, I'm not too at "keeping calm & carrying on..."

I apologize.

I sincerely apologize for my obsession with kitchens, predominately white kitchens, at that. I know that the superfluous overflow of kitchen images gets old, but I mean, come on... who doesn't love {in my opinion} the best room in a home... the place with the most wonderful smells of garlic & cinnamon arise from, the location that allows you to just stand in front of the pantry and try new tastes aimlessly, the part of the house everyone just seems to congregate at for no apparent reason, and the place that you can escape, relax, unwind, converse, and dance in... {sigh.}

girl crush.

I am slightly obsessed with Zooey Deschanel...
Roll Call:
+ she makes any ensemble look chic.
+ she is quirky & grooves to her own beat.
+ she has an impeccable eye for fashion.
+ she owns a pair dreamy blue eyes & rather long lashes.
+ she rocks a great sense of humor.
+ everyone gushes over her kindness.
+ uh, she is my idol.
Ok, just thought I would share...

Cubby Organizer....$129.00

Cheese Markers, Set of 4....$19.00
Markham Console Bar... $1,399.00

Love Pottery Barn's new catalogue... love it. The new pieces have a hint vintage sensibility, but still feel so modern & fresh.

At the top of the birthday list this year...
**THE buffet (yes it requires all CAPS) would match our dining room set just perfectly. O man, O man.
**Cheese Markers, because lets face it, I label & mark everything and this would help me with my green endeavors... I admit it, my labels are compulsive.
**Old library cubbies, I mean, I have craved something like this for very a looong time... my craft room neeeeds this.
Ok, Happy Monday...

random weekend combo...

We've been gone for the past 4 weekends out of town... looking forward to cleaning, making Quesadilla Pie, Black Bean Salsa, & Mojitos, running errands, and watching Grey Gardens.
Grey Gardens was originally a 1975 documentary about the everyday lives of the two Edith Beales, a reclusive socialite mother and daughter (Cousins to Jackie O.) who lived at Grey Gardens, a decrepit mansion in the East Hamptons. The two women lived together there for decades with limited funds, resulting in squalor and almost total isolation...
HBO redid the documentary & filled in gaps with Drew Barry Moore & Jessica Lange... and it is recieving rave reviews.
Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait...
Happy Weekend!

simple & delish.

Tried this for dinner and it was delightful... thought I would share:
(I added chicken, too, a girl needs her meat...
oh & Parmesan & crushed red pepper. yummy.)
Pasta With Zucchini & Goat Cheese:
12 ounces (3/4 of the box) linguine
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound zucchini, sliced into thin half-moons
kosher salt and pepper
1 clove garlic, chopped
5 ounces fresh goat cheese, crumbled
2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
-Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Reserve 1 cup of the cooking water, drain the pasta, and return it to the pot.
-Heat the oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add the zucchini, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper and cook, stirring, until the zucchini is tender and any liquid has evaporated, about 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook 1 minute more.
-Add all but 2 tablespoons of the cheese to the pasta. Add the reserved pasta water, 3/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Stir until creamy. Serve the pasta topped with the zucchini, lemon zest, and the remaining cheese.

How cool are these Rugs? They are coined with the name, "Positive and Negative Rug" and were designed by Swedish designer, Björn Dahlström.

They are entirely too expensive, in my opinion, for something you will walk all over, ($6,091.00 each) but I love the concept and idea of them.

Check out what they say & the name should make some sense...
