M. Stewey.

While I know it is frivolous, this year, I invested in the Martha Stewart Pumpkin carving kit. They had sold out when I went on a hunt for it last year... so you have to buy them early in September. Martha, of course, outfits with every tool you could possibly need to create perfect pumpkin creations. The tools have wooden handles for longevity and there is even a circle and square "punch out tool" for the perfectionists in the bunch. I made a polka dot pumpkin the other night... and am in love. I highly recommend this purchase... it is a little holiday indulgence that leads to sheer bliss and years and years of pumpkin carving endeavors. (I also recommend to work with candy corn close at hand.)

to brighten your day.

pretty floral, cozy homes, European women who dress with impeccable taste & class, this photo shoot of Angie Jolie from W ( i am fully aware i am obsessed & this is my second posted pic of her), and cutie birthday parties make me really giddy & are helping me get through this sluggish Tuesday. enjoy!
also...

as i have stated too many times, I am obsessed with polaroids. I have been on a hunt for a while.... i found this link to make polariods from your digital pics, and it is the only one worth blogging about, BUT it is only for macs... sad. I searched all over for the past couple of days for one for PCs, and they just do not do this site justice. All you mac lovers, enjoy! Abby, I need to come borrow your little apple.

yummy bites.

Matt, the author of this food blog I love to read, (well, because I love food) did a test to see if everything really does taste good in a tortilla. To me, this is a no brainer, but his concoctions are rather enticing.... yumm yumm.

An apple pie soiree.... yes please! I would very much like to throw one of these little celebrations for my people. Check out this inspiration board from snippet and ink... most of her stuff is typically about weddings, but this post I just happened to adore.

one hot mom.

i love this pic... she is a pretty hip & hot little momma.
Larsen, you fit this description too.

the mecca.

I went to a fabric warehouse in south Dallas a couple of days ago to pick up some goodies for work... it was a wonderful sensory overload. They had the more thick, lush, beautiful fabrics than I could possibly take in... the whole time I was thinking of Lindsay, who is an interior designer, and jealously saying, "She gets to play with these all day!" I was a bit overwhelmed with my mind jumping from one possibility and idea to the next, but I kept picturing talented, organized Lin staying focused on the task at hand... and she is the only reason I was able to escape that unbelievable mecca... seriously.

dewey decimal to the rescue.

i would love to have one of these to help organize all my little odds n' ends craft supplies.

mom's lunch notes.

photos compliements of just something i made

These little notes remind me of my mom putting notes in my lunch everyday with little drawings. My favorite was her drawing of a girl doing a hurkey with a megaphone & pom poms, when I tried out for cheerleader. I know it helped boost my confidence in my lack of mad cheerleading skliz, however, I don't think it boosted the judges' confidence in me, (maybe it was the pale skin, chicken legs, double colored socks, pounds of mascara, and purple glasses?) however, I was not destined to become a Mustang cheerleader. I still have the napkin though... and that's what i remember about the tryout.
While i do not want kiddies right now, i can't wait to write sweet, encouraging notes to them everyday. (I can only aspire to have them as cute as the ones above!)

slightly brisk.

Fall weather has begun in dallas today! yes please.

camping.

roasting mallos.
vintage thermoses filled with hot chocolate.
snuggly, down sleeping bags.
lounging around the campfire.
yes please.
I went on a search for camping photos and fell in love with all these images. I had been looking at Design Within Reach's catalog and got the itch to go on an adventure... camping reminds me of my dad and I love it. Anyone wanna go? Langston and Abby, I know you're down.
